Mr. Sabraw joined SMS Financial in November of 2018. In his current role as Managing Director, Business Development, Mr. Sabraw is responsible for SMS’ loan acquisition efforts as well as the placement of new bridge and hard money loans. Prior to his role at SMS, Ben spent 11 years at The Debt Exchange, Inc (DebtX), where he led the engagement and placement of $1.2 billion of loans on behalf of more than 125 distinct banks, insurance companies, and other financial institutions. He is an expert in loan sales and valuations. Ben holds a Bachelor of Science in history from Oregon State University and an MBA from the University of San Francisco.
Mr. Leto joined SMS Financial in 2024 as Managing Director, Business Development. Mr. Leto is responsible for SMS’ loan acquisition efforts as well as the placement of new bridge and hard money loans. He has over twelve years of corporate and business development experience. Prior to his role at SMS, he was an Executive Director with Beltway Capital Management and Vice President at Argosy Credit Partners, where he focused on sourcing whole loans and originations. Mr. Leto received his Bachelor of Arts in management and political science from Villanova University.
Mr. Kolbus joined SMS Financial in 2022. As an Associate, he focuses on underwriting, asset management, and business development. Before joining SMS, Mr. Kolbus spent 5 years as a Financial Analyst for Wintrust Bank in Chicago. Mr. Kolbus holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Mr. Trott joined SMS Financial in 2022 as an Analyst, focusing on financial analysis, due diligence, and asset management. Prior to joining SMS, he worked with the Arizona PSPRS, the pension system for police, fire, and elected officials, where he assisted in the analysis of potential investments for the fund. Mr. Trott holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the W.A. Franke College of Business at Northern Arizona University.
Mr. Cavarra joined SMS Financial in 2022. As an analyst, he specializes in underwriting, financial analysis, and overall due diligence for the acquisitions team. Mr. Cavarra holds bachelor’s degrees in both Finance and Entrepreneurship from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona.
Ms. Myers joined SMS Financial in January of 2020. As an asset manager, she services a portfolio of commercial loans. She also assists in the acquisitions and due diligence areas at SMS. Before joining SMS Financial, Ms. Myers was a legal assistant at Sternberg & Singer law offices. Ms. Myers holds a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor focused in business administration and management from the University of Arizona.
